Martin has over 21 years of experience in the Financial Advisory Services (FAS), venture capital and banking industries, providing M&A advice and structured finance solutions to entrepreneurial-minded businesses.
Over the years, Martin has lead various business transfer transactions involving MBO’s, third party divestitures, family transfers, equity take-outs and succession planning. He has assisted mid-market public and private companies in developing business plans, forecasts and projections and raising different levels of debt and capital.
Martin also performs various due diligence mandates in third party buy-outs, mergers and growth transactions for mid-market private companies, entrepreneurs and venture capital funds.
Prior to joining BDO, Martin headed the succession and acquisition group and lead a team of KBI (Innovation & Technology) lenders at a major “big 4” Canadian bank. He also evolved as an Investment Manager with different players in the venture capital field (Labour sponsored fund) and subordinated debt industry.
Martin is recognized for developing innovative structured finance solutions and boasts an impressive network. He is recognized as an expert in the field of business transfers having given several presentations on the subject as well as having written and participated in articles published in several magazines, newspapers and podcasts.
