2007 BDO Classic Canadian Open

The sporting spotlight shined on Winnipeg and BDO January 24-28 as BDO hosted the Classic Canadian Open, a Grand Slam of Curling event. The tournament showcased the biggest stars of the curling world, starting from the first draw with Team Gushue and Team Stoughton revisiting their classic match from the 2006 Olympic Trials. Team Stoughton took home the victory from the reigning Olympic champion in the thrilling match.

In the end, Kevin Martin stood tall amongst all the superstars, downing six-time Brier winner Randy Ferby 7-4 in a thrilling final round match. It was Martin’s third championship in five years. Look for BDO at more curling events in men’s and women’s draws in the months to come.
